After washing, jumbo sheets are automatically inspected to detect structural defects such as bubbles, inclusions, deep scratches and coating defects, identifying unrecoverable issues before they enter the production process. The resulting defect map is then transferred directly to the cutting table, enabling optimized cutting strategies, reduced scrap and improved overall yield. For manufacturers working with large-format glass, this early-stage inspection is particularly valuable: a single undetected defect on a jumbo sheet can affect multiple finished pieces once cutting begins, multiplying the cost of the error many times over.
